Every day, our helicopters realize primary medical rescue and secondary transports
for French SMUR.

We put 1 or 2 helicopters at the disposal of several hospitals with an available crew 7/7 or 24/7. A nursing and doctors crew is taken on board and according to the ALERT CENTER request, they carry out medical interventions in the concerned area.

Thanks to the “know-how” of our rescue teams and a 25 years close collaboration with the SMUR’s doctors our pilots have a sizeable experience in medical interventions. They can safely meet EMS operational requirements.

The aircrafts online maintenance is made on site and in case of technical breakdown or scheduled maintenance activity, we supply a substitution helicopter.

In April 2006, the Group has significantly strengthened its medical services unit by gathering the leader of French emergency helicopter HELICAP and SAF HELICOPTERES for French SMUR.

This is the logical culmination of works between the EMS helicopter precursor, Jean CAPOULADE and a mountain rescue pioneer, Roland FRAISSINET.

GROUPE SAF now, with a fleet of 31 helicopters including 17 twin-engines, is one of the major actors of European medical transport.

This merger which combines two strong expertises is a key step towards an invariably better care of patients.
